The power of a great vendor / partner relationship.

We have been printing various products for the Canadian Opera Company for 20 years now.

It started small – letterhead, invitations and envelopes, and we have grown with them to become their print supplier of choice.

We understand the brand, we understand the sense of urgency and we understand that the show MUST go on.

Working in conjunction with the COC’s top notch marketing department, and their AOR, we continually produce award winning work for them on a regular basis.

Although we print their brochures, their house programs, their direct mail campaigns, their renewal campaigns, their program inserts, their stationery, it doesn’t stop there!!

We carry the continuity of look and feel that we understand from the print collateral to all their signage on the inside and outside of the Four Seasons Center of Performing Arts downtown Toronto where the Canadian Opera Company performs.

From backlits to frontlits, from vinyl to signs, from window graphics to the massive banner in the Queen/ University plaza, we produce it all under the watchful eye of our production and QC team, to ensure we achieve the correct dramatic effect.

But we’re not afraid to be dramatic either!!

We received some AWESOME B&W images for the renewal campaign, but we just knew they could be better.

Understanding the complications that come along with trying to print neutral black images in a four color environment, we encouraged the AOR to copy and hold onto the black channel out of the CMYK image. Then convert that image in a monotone greyscale – which created a great neutral look, but wasn’t dramatic enough – so we used the black channel we had, blew out the ¼ and ½ tones so we only have ¾ and full tones left to create a support color, used Black 7 (Black & PMS 877 silver) as support and BAM! What a great effect –everyone was thrilled with the result!
